spring equinox

Is it just me or does everything sound more beautiful in Spanish? Today is the spring equinox. The first day of Spring, with equal parts day and night. Where darkness meets light and we linger in the middle, inhaling the sweet scents of sunshine and possibility.

Although I have spent the last 3 winters in the tropics, I am still a New Englander. I love the significance of spring. An emergence from the darkness of winter and the promise of warmer, brighter days ahead.

I think it's important to remember that as humans we have seasons too. Spring may mean something different for all of us, depending on where we are in our current lives. Its important to honor these changes and treat ourselves with compassion. Whether we are emerging from a period of intense anxiety or depression or simply continuing on a path of self discovery, where can we invite more space? What limiting beliefs or negative habits can we release?

Maybe the winter season was a time of hunkering down, of hibernating, of starting to plant the seeds of intention for all that we wish to see blossom as we move forward into spring and summer.

To me, spring is a time to step forth into the light and allow yourself to bloom. I'm setting new intentions and wiping the slate clean- time to free myself of all those limiting beliefs that have ZERO significance. Saying fuck you and goodbye to self doubt, comparison, jealousy, and all those others fear feelings. Even if you have to say it a million times, the time to start is now. Eventually it will click. It's a practice for a reason.

So, lets invite more space and light into our lives this season. More space for compassion, self love, community, connection, and pursuing our passions. Less space for ego, judgement, negativity, self doubt, comparison. Plant the seeds, water them, and watch them bloom. It's all possible!

Happy Equinox!
